Carpet Reclamation

Since Sergenian’s Floor Coverings started Wisconsin’s first and only comprehensive carpet reclamation program in February of 2007, we have diverted over 11 million pounds of carpet and padding from local landfills.

Our sustainability efforts have been recognized both nationally (Mohawk Greenworks Award), as well as locally (InBusiness Magazine Sustainability Award), and we continue to pursue new sustainable initiatives. Over the last three years, in coordination with UW Housing, we have recycled nearly 50,000 pounds of used dormitory carpet and padding that had been otherwise destined for Dane County landfills.

Carpet Reclamation Drop-Off Program

While we promise to reclaim all carpet that we remove, you don’t need to have purchased flooring from us to ensure that your old carpet will stay out of the landfill. With our Carpet Reclamation Drop-Off Program, you can drop off your carpet at our Distribution Center and we will recycle it at a modest cost.

Guidelines

  • All carpet must be clean (without debris) and dry
  • Maximum size per piece is 10’x10′
  • Carpet tile over 500 sq. ft. must be palletized and shrink wrapped, maximum 4 ft. high
  • Customer must provide quantity information at drop off
